We took our truck for an oil change. This is the only place we go. We received a call stating that the oil change could not be completed without purchasing a new oil pan because the drain plug and threads in the oil pan were stripped. No other place has ever changed the oil in this truck, and this had never been mentioned before. It was going to cost over $400 to replace. Not until my husband asked if there was a cheaper way was he told that the pan could be re-threaded, but they didn't say a price. They just went ahead and did it because something had to be done, making a simple oil change over $200. When asked what caused this, it was said that it's a "common problem." Upon further research, we found that it could be from over tightening the drain plug, which could have only been done by someone at this location. When we arrived, we were very upset and Danny helped us by reducing the price a little. Never did they take responsibility for the mistake. We won't be back again.
Not overly happy.Staff seemed nice, but Diagnosis, while correct (I think) on alternator, included other items totally unrelated to the issue I was having. Felt like bad attempt at a scam for extra parts and work.The alternator I was sold (part only) was $200 more than the most expensive I could find ANYWHERE else. OEM part, new... online and in stores. Unfortunately I didnt discover until after the car was apart...My brother stopped going here for similar issues. This is the second time weve had an exaggerated estimate/diagnosis. Lived here all my life... had troubles with my other shop and figured Id give H&S a try (again).. unlikely Ill be back
Im not sure how youre doing your hiring process but its working. Everyone I have ever worked with at the front desk have been awesome. Its what keeps me coming back. Just let the guys know theyre awesome.
